چکیده
The role of transportation network companies (TNCs) in the urban transport system is under intense debate. In this study, we systematically assess three aspects net impacts TNCs on mobility United States—road congestion, transit ridership and private vehicle ownership—and examine how these have evolved over time. Based a set fixed-effect panel models estimated using metropolitan statistical area level data, find that entrance led to increased road congestion terms both intensity (by 0.9%) duration 4.5%), an 8.9% decline insignificant change ownership. Despite ideal providing sustainable solution by promoting large-scale car sharing, our analysis suggests intensified challenges since their debut States. use growth ride-sharing apps recent years has changed patterns. This article examines mass ownership North American cities.

Designing Incomplete Hub Location-routing Network in Urban Transportation Problem
In this paper, a comprehensive model for hub location-routing problem is proposed which no network structure other than connectivity is imposed on backbone (i.e. network between hub nodes) and tributary networks (i.e. networks which connect non-hub nodes to hub nodes). This model is applied in public transportation, telecommunication and banking networks. In this model locating and routing is c...
متن کاملFrom urbanization to urban clusters: impacts on urban transportation in Chinese cities
In China, rapid economic growth and increasing foreign direct investment (FDI) is the driving force for urbanization, and transformation of urban spatial structures and transportation. Frequent interactive economic activities among the neighboring cities reinforce the already spatially clustered cities. In this paper we tried to extract the key urban transportation characteristics of seventy ma...
متن کاملSupersampling and Network Reconstruction of Urban Mobility
Understanding human mobility is of vital importance for urban planning, epidemiology, and many other fields that draw policies from the activities of humans in space. Despite the recent availability of large-scale data sets of GPS traces or mobile phone records capturing human mobility, typically only a subsample of the population of interest is represented, giving a possibly incomplete picture...
متن کاملEvaluating the dynamic impacts of urban form on transportation and environmental outcomes in US cities
Previous urban sprawl studies have typically taken a cross-sectional approach without examining how sprawling urban areas are performing over time. Longitudinal studies of individual or household travel behavior and built-environment preference have made some progress in this direction, but very few studies have explored the longitudinal interaction of urban form with transportation and environ...
متن کاملApplication of cost models in transportation companies
The function of transportation services is covering of distances and transferring goods, passengers and messages from one place to another. There is a possibility to use a simple and complex cost model or their modification to reflect transportation costs and their impact. The resulting value obtained from the usage of a complex cost model is influenced by a material expensiveness, wage expensi...
